I wanted the challenge of designing some covers from this famous children’s series. One of the main design motifs I wanted was setting or objects/characters on the cover, and I feel like that is interchangeable between the current covers.

Inspired by the famous first edition covers, I wanted some motifs and setting designs that would match with the depiction of each book. I was also inspired by theatre poster design and the typeface, Westsac, that I used.

I wanted something cohesive that would tie everything together into a series design such as art nouveau. Sketching was really great in creating some early stage visuals to see what assets would look like.
